We were looking for a specific place and we expected a dirt road. It has been some time since we traveled on an unpaved road. The road was in better shape than we expected with all the rain! Still it was great to be in a very open and still part of the country. Not many other travelers and no homes or buildings along the way. Just quiet except for the noise of the car driving over the road. And to see so much green on the hills and mountains. It's a welcome sight! It's been a very unusual winter for us. In all the years, I've lived out here, I've never had this much cold for this length of time. Definitely a year of changes.
